Calypso des Contes d'Hoffmann

We have been trying to get Calypso for the last few years and finally, we have her! She is a littermate to our incredible Momo (Custer) and shares most of the qualities we love about her brother.

I first saw Calypso when she was very young and was very impressed by her grips, drive, character and power. I would have bought her on the spot if I could (especially since I had Momo and was so impressed by him) but she was not for sale. I had seen her a few times here and there since, offering to buy her every time to no avail.

Unfortunatley, she did not receive much training or socialization over the years and was strictly confined to her kennel. A shame, since I felt this bitch could have easily titled to FR3. Circumstances changed for her owner in early 2011 and I finally got my chance to get her.

Even after all that, she is still a very social, confident and driven bitch with nice nerves and big calm grips. She is a happy dog and loves to work. Like her brother, she has excellent food drive, excellent prey drive and is no pushover. She is definitely a dominant bitch but shows no unwarranted aggression, no handler aggression and is very trainable.

Calypso will hopefully play a key role on our breeding program. She has the qualities that few Malinois bitches have these days and a stellar bloodline to back it up.

Update:

Unfortunately Calypso passed away on 11/21/11 due to complications after having emergency surgery. We are devastated by the loss of our girl and will miss her dearly. She got to spent the last year being spoiled and enjoying life on the ranch.

We were fortunate enough to get a few excellent daughters from her and they will hopefully continue her legacy.
